Guidance for abstract submissions

Prizes

We welcome submissions from all healthcare professionals of all levels including doctors, nurses, and AHPs.

The best abstracts will be invited to present orally during the 'Platform presentations' session on Friday 12th May.

Abstract submission open to all but prizes awarded to non-consultants only 

Best abstracts presented orally during 'Platform presentations' session 

​There are 3 prizes for category winners:

  • Best oral presentation

  • Second Place oral presentation

  • Best poster

Please comply with the instructions below; failure to do so will result in automatic rejection of the abstract.

​Abstract submissions can be electronically submitted to the following email address: chloewragg@eventmanagementdirect.co.uk 

 

​By submitting a subsequently selected abstract, the first author agrees to register and present at the Age Anaesthesia Association (AAA) Annual Scientific Meeting in Bristol on 11th & 12th May 2023.

​The work described in the abstract must conform to acceptable ethical standards. Please include a statement to that effect.

​Please follow these instructions when typing your abstract:

  1. ​As the abstracts will be judged anonymously, do not include the name of your institution/organisation.

  2. The abstract should be no more than 280 words, including the title, and should fit comfortably on a single page of A4.  All text must be typed in single line spacing using font Arial 10.

  3. The abstract must include data and may consist of the following four headings:

    • Introduction

    • Methods

    • Results

    • Conclusions

  4. The excessive use of abbreviations is discouraged (all abbreviations should have been expanded at first use).

  5. Do not include references, graphs, figures or tables for abstracts.

  6. The work must not have been published elsewhere at the time of submission.

  7. All abstracts will be considered for both poster and podium presentation.

  8. Email confirmation will be sent to the first and senior authors, so please include both your email addresses with a list of authors.

 

Deadline for abstracts is now closed.

 

Late submissions will not be accepted. You will be informed by email if your abstract is accepted and details of poster and podium presentations will be provided.
